Joy from Babysitting

Joy to me is not being able to describe the love you have for kids.

It's when you stop caring about the money from babysitting.

It's when you realize you don't want Summer to end
because you will miss "your" little kids.

It's when children are the only ones to make you truly happy.

It's when the kids start doing things because they know you'll love it.

It's when the children you babysit start to notice your love for them.

It's when you honestly miss the kids.

It's when you choose to babysit over hanging out with your friends, and there isn't one part of you that longs to be with your friends. Because you love the company of children. And because you recognize how much they have changed your life already.

Once Upon a Time...

I cut my hair ALL off. I don't know what I was thinking because seriously I would never do that today. I was in 4th grade, and I remember being really bummed because nobody really noticed it was different. The reason I bring this up now is because apparently its the "cool thing" to have shoulder-length hair right now? A few people have asked me if I'm going to cut my hair since it's long, and I just say "Do you think since I've been trying to grow my hair back out since 4th grade that I would cut it off..?" No matter how annoying long hair gets(although I have it pretty easy because my hair is naturally straight and doesn't really frizz), I remind myself of 4th grade when I cut my hair short.
At least it was for a good cause though, right?
I cut my hair for Locks of Love. An organization that takes people's hair to make wigs for cancer patients. You can check out their whole non-profit organization page here.

My hair before(How cute is that shrug? HA.)

The process of cutting it off

My face when I first saw it(I was just surprised it wasn't longer)

My hair in the end(Notice the stain on my shirt please. I think
it reminds me why you don't wear plain white tshirts)

Our School Spirit..

Used to be horrible. Like you would think there were maybe 100 kids at most that went to our school because no one went to any games at all. This was really upsetting, but this year something changed.
We got BLEACHERS, which means we can actually have true home football games.
We got a POOL, which means we can have home water polo games.
AND
We got an actual TRACK, which means we can have track meets at our school.

So at the end of August we had our first ever Home football game. It was glorious. Actually it was more than that, it was the most amazing thing to happen to me. It was so great that I lost my voice.
So basically my school never wins ANY Football games, we kind of gave up hope awhile ago, but we WON!! And it was a beautiful thing.

Before the game with Cassidie and Yovanna

OUR turf. OUR team. OUR year. GO STALLIONS!

Yovanna and I all spirited up for the game

That day was a very long day because for the whole day before that we had LINK crew, which is a group of kids who teach leadership through helping Freshmen adjust to high school. We were paired up with one other leader and we each had 10 freshman that we taught different team building games to. We then shared our own "high school stories". We shared different struggles we have had to get over, and helped them realize that high school isn't as scary as they may have thought it was. It was a great experience and I am so stoked to be apart of the group for the rest of the year.

My Life's Notes

In the theatre before the Hunger Games premiere

Waiting in line, I was extremely tired

I am like the boys when it comes to food... Always ready to eat

Dear Spring Break,
Did you have to go by so fast?? I will agree though that I had the best time, and yet no pictures to document any of it.

Dear Teachers,
I love that I did not have to do any HW over break. I am really grateful for this.

Dear Everyone Reading This,
A sweet little girl in my church passed away this past week. Her funeral services were last night and today. We all only knew her for almost 7 years, but she was the sweetest little girl who always looked "fancy". She over to read books, and she had the cutest smile. If you want to see some cute videos and photos of her go here

Dear Brides,
Both weddings I went to this weekend were gorgeous. People need to keep getting married so I can get more inspiration.

Dear Weather,
LOVE YOU!! I wish I could head to the beach everyday this week.

Dear Week,
Be good to me. I'm still coming back from a ridiculously amazing break, and would appreciate it greatly if nothing too intense occurs.

Sincerely,
Kenzie

On the First Day of Christmas...

I was sad when I searched "Christmas" into Google Images, and there was only 1 picture of Christ's birth. The true meaning of Christmas really has become something different, and everyone is taken over by the buying of gifts, when they should be aware of the service they can give.
I am grateful for Christ's birth though this Holiday Season.
If Christ was never born, this world would be a whole different place, and I would be a whole different purpose. I am grateful for the opportunity we have every Christmas to remind each other the reason we are all able to return to live with Heavenly Father again. For some great religious and Christmas movies to show your kids about the true meaning of Christ's birth, please watch this, this, this, this, or any other movie shown on this website. Everyone is titled to their own beliefs, but it is what you do with those beliefs that changes how other people act around you.
