Close to the End

As Summer is quickly coming to an end, I've decided to compile some pictures of my first day of school since 6th grade(Well I think I'm missing 7th or 8th, but I'm not sure where it would be). It's weird to see how much I've changed. I have no idea why I would wear my hair up in a pony tail on the first day of 6th grade, mainly because I rarely do that even today. Oh well, I guess I'll never understand my thoughts when I was younger.

6th grade

7th or 8th(I can't remember)

9th(We had to wear our volleyball tshirts for our first game that night)

9th grade second day outfit
10th grade(Over the years we stopped being able to figure out how to stand for pictures)

Only 1 More Day...

Until this cute boy can legally drive me everywhere.

Happy 17th Birthday Damon!! "Today you're a man... Mozeltoff"(500 Days of Summer). You seriously are the sunshine that shines so brightly today. You make me want to smile consistently, and I really like when you take everything I say seriously. You are the reason I am saying all these ridiculously cheesy sayings. I hope you have the most magical day of your life, and I want you to know that if you do not destroy El Toro High School with your digs tonight, then I will personally come over to your house and scrutinize you. Just kidding.. I like you too much for that.

Love my nerdiness... This is what 10:30 on a school night does to me

I will always love this picture of us because it is really, seriously hard to be serious around you.

Lots and lots of love,
Kenzie Brooke

My Random Thoughts Monday

I know I never even finished out the week with my blogging! It was a crazy week. Being the last week of volleyball season and HALLOWEEN I was really excited.
Which reminds me:
I never told you about my Halloween!!
I dressed up as a cowgirl this year, and I thought I was pretty darn cute for a last-minute costume.
(Plaid Shirt-Goodwill Overalls-Goodwill Boots-Borrowed Hat-Some shop in Palm Springs) (p.s. aren't those overalls to die for?!)
All the Kids in my family, and our costumes:
(Order from left to right: T-Harry Potter M-Princess M-Cheerleader M-Cowgirl)
Madalyn and I babysit this darling little girl. What's ironic about her costume(Rapunzel from Tangled if nobody knew who she was, which by the way would be very sad)? She has the shortest hair of all of her friends the same age as her.
Halloween night was spent playing a volleyball game, then taking two cute little girls trick-or-treating with my friend Damon. It was extremely fun because we ended the night with the movie Polturgeist II. It's sort of a tradition to watch one of the Polturgeist movies on Halloween.

My Random Thoughts Monday

Wouldn't it be awesome if it was socially accepted for girls to wear moustaches??
Just a few years ago(can't believe it's been that long), all the girls in my church put on a skit where we had to dress up like guys, and the first idea for dressing up was: MOUSTACHES!! That's where this picture comes from.
Happy Halloween to everyone!! Have a fantastic time trick-or-treating! I will be playing some volleyball and hopefully destroying the opposing team
*Here is me in my 12-year-old gloriousnessness (AKA Awkwardness)*

*My all-time favorite Halloween costume from last year, The Mad Hatter has new expectations now*

There are 101 Reasons Why I Haven't Posted...

BUT I think I'll just tell you why I am posting...
1. In less than 3 months I will be driving!!
Which means I need to find a nice(but cheap) car within those four months, so that I don't need to just borrow one of my parents cars instead. I would love an older/vintagey car but obviously most of those are stick-shift and I can barely drive with just the gas and pedal- I can only imagine what it would be like putting a cluth in there as well... So if anyone has suggestions of places or types of cars to look at I would love you :)
2. School has been super fun this year
*Me on the first day of 6th grade*
I am not a huge fan of school, but I still try (occasionally) to answer all the questions and do my homework. And my friends are super chill.. yes it's true we are a little awkward and we like to either be absolutely silent or sing and dance to Highschool Musical(no joke, the other day I walked up to our table with my other friend and they were all singing and dancing to High School Musical's "Stick To The Status Quo", so I proceeded to join them while my other friend walked away totally stunned).
3. My School spirit is surprisingly LARGE this year

*Serving in Volleyball(see my knee brace?? it makes my knee look ridiculously fat)*

I go to a high school that really is not very school spirited. We lose every football game, and most other sports actually. This year is only the 5th year it's been open, and I feel like our school finally has enough spirit to make it not completely weird to dress up for spirit week( speaking of which, our spirit week was last week, and I dressed up for 3!!!! of the days). ANd our football games have become the best place to go on Friday, normally Thursday(since we don't have our own football stadium) Nights.
4. I love my Sister so much...
I have a sister who is exactly 16 months younger than me. We don't look anything like eachother, but we act EXACTLY the same, almost like twins. She and I share a room too, which is surprisingly a bonus(even though I sleep on the top bunk). I should convince her to guest post on this blog once I get a few more followers :)
5. CHURCH
My religion is a HUGE part of my life, and I don't find it as much of a burden anymore than just a way of life for me. I absolutely love my religion, and I don't want to try to convert anyone but I think it's really important to stand up for your church at all times.

Be prepared for a semi-new school year facelift!! I think I will be doing events such as: My Random thoughts Monday Tempting Lyrics Tuesday Weirdo Wednesday Thoughts Thursday(My crazy/random thoughts) Flaunt-It Friday(my Fashion day) PLEASE FOLLOW BECAUSE I PROMISE YOU WON'T REGRET IT :)

When the Lights Go Out...

Just this past Thursday I was at a neighboring high school playing a volleyball game, when the lights go out. Lame Sauce right? The worst part: Game was canceled, and I had to miss an hour of chemistry to get to that game! Anyways, after a bunch of traffic trying to get home from the high school, we decided to make pancakes for dinner on our gas stove(which is why we don't have an electric stove like my Grandma) and barbeque the hamburgers we were going to have for dinner. It was the most fantastic dinner in the history of starvation(not sure if that's spelled right??) for me. Basically, there was no power at my house from 3:30-11pm so the real major question is: What do you do during a power outage? We depend so much on electricity today that it is hard to find fun things to do when you can't use any of it. So this is what I did:
1st: Cell Phone- I drained my entire battery texting a bunch of people all night long, and I prayed the electricity would come on so that I wouldn't have a dead phone all day Friday
2nd:Books- Before the sun went down I read a lot of fun and interesting books
3rd:Hoping/Praying- I just kept waiting for a phone call saying school was canceled, but it didn't come until 9:00 which then meant Disneyland all day Friday!!
Basically, in the end, The power outage was very uneventful(besides the fact that my whole family almost died in a car accident, but that's another story) and totally worth EVERYTHING!!
Here's a funny picture to keep your spirits up:
Not entirely sure what this picture came from, but I found it on my camera when I uploaded my pictures and it made me laugh

Just Cause it's Summer...

The Beach. The Sand. The Waves. The Sound. The Air. The Smell. The Laughter. The Games. The Friendship. The Sports. The Freedom. The Sun. The Weather. The Shorts. The Dresses. The Love. The People. The Colors. The Ice Cream. The Sandals. The Sunglasses. The Hats.
I ABSOLUTELY AM FREAKING IN LOVE WITH SUMMER!!! The Whole Deal, not just part of it, but the whole entirely season.
Because I've been the biggest slacker ever known to walk this earth(hehe I'm kiddin) I thought i would share with you a few summer memories I caught on film, or the handy-dandy digital camera that I sometimes want to kill.
1. Pardon My Immodesty
but check out these beauties!! When I found these in my madre's closet one day I about died. These lovely overalls make me feel like I'm in some Jenny Craig commercial saying: "I Just Lost 76lbs." To tell you the truth I have not been losing weight, but rather gaining it :(
(With the way I eat it is hard not to ha.)
2. Lovely Posters like these...
After a lovely day at the beach, I headed to Harbor House(a truly magnificent diner, if your ever in the area you should go there!) with a friend where we love looking at all the different posters as we eat our yummy, fattening food.. This one happens to say Destiny, which is a vital point used in many of the arguements I win 3. Teaching my Brother the Art of Photography...
and finding a picture like this(fantastic) taken by Him(a 9-year-old boy). I think he has a hidden talent because that picture was definitely not planned at all. The lighting is making me "green with jealous rage"-FAST: anyone know the quote? ANSWER: Hot Rod! AKA greatest (mormon) movie alive, but really it isn't a mormon movie 4. This No Makeup Goodness... This picture is definitely not the cutest but it shows my lovely freckles, lightened hair, and no makeup.. all results of the summer! Whoever wears makeup during summer is crazy, when your a real californian you take everyday you can get to go makeup free(which isn't always the best look for me)
5. Bathroom Pictures in Palm Springs...
ha. So basically I can't explain my love for this bathroom. Everytime my fam stays at this resort it's pretty normal for me and my sis to spend half the time in this sweaty, steamy, hot bathroom(which is half indoors and half outdoors.. Cool I know). Just one of the pictures we took after a lovely shower in the bathroom, yes that lovely lookin lady in the red bathin suit would be me
I have plenty more pictures to share eventually, but for now I'll take it a lil bit at a time... heading on a HUGE, GNARTATIOUS trek tomorrow after I hit up my skills at some volleyball yet again, maybe I'll actually be awake this time.. hmmm
