WHAT TIME IS IT?!?!

SUMMER TIME! IT'S OUR VACATION...

Last night, I was driving home from Disneyland with my sister. We were wishing it was already Summer, and that we would not have to go back to school today when I yelled out "What time is it?" with the response of "Summer time!". We continued to sing a beautiful rendition of the song throughout the quick trip to the store as everyone stared at us. Obviously we are a little excited to be out of school.

This school year though was the best. I learned new things about myself, as well as made friends with people I once disliked for no reason. I mean, I'm good friends with a TALL asian. How many people can say that? Ha. Anyways, through difficult teachers, boredom, and some personal struggles- I came out alive and am ready for a wonderful Summer to prepare for Junior year!

For my first official day of Summer, I'm starting it out with a trip to the temple and I might go try out a new waffle place around us called Bruxie. I'm pretty freaking stoked.

Me during my Theatre Days- Hairspray
Tonight we have our seminary party, and I'm singing at Graduation!! If any of you know me, then you know I used to sing in quite a few choirs and also performed in musical theatre, but through the years I dropped it to pursue sports. Now with a lot of random struggles going on in my life, I have found that singing is my favorite. I'm back to singing in a church choir called OCMCO, you can read what my mom wrote about our concert here. And I am also in my school's chamber choir, which requires that I sing at graduation. Whoop! Now I'm gonna go memorize our new Alma Mater before the big show, the joys of having a semi-new school.

My Life's Notes

Me and My Friends are the coolest/weirdest.. Whichever you prefer

Me as a young babe, It looks like I have orange hair

Dear Last Weekend,
I loved that I could hangout with all of my friends and babysit 3 separate times. I fit everything into my Friday and Saturday, then on Sunday I got my special Joseph of Egypt award at Seminary Graduation.

Dear Girls who are going on their 4th year at girls camp in my stake,
I have some rad things planned for you. Seriously though, you will wonder why everyone thinks the first years are immature, when really it's my friends and I.

Dear School,
I'm really grateful there is only a week left.

Dear Summer,
I would say come faster, but you're coming fast enough... So don't slow down!!

Dear Laundry,
Is there a way you could finish yourself? I would appreciate it.

Dear Baby G,
I died over your cheeks last night even though you did drool and spit up all over me. It was most definitely worth it.

Dear Rube Goldberg Project,
You're dumb.

Dear Everyone,
Have a great week!! And go eat some Waffles.

With much excitement and joy,
Kenzie

My Life's Notes

Weren't we cute as kids??

Dear Weather,
I seriously dislike you. I want it to be sunny, not gloomy and dreadful.

Dear School,
Please end. NOW.

Dear Friday,
You cannot come soon enough.

Dear Grass,
I so not appreciate the cuts i have all over my legs from ice blocking on Saturday.

Dear "Don't Drop That Thun Thun Thun",
You may be a fun song to dance to, but when it comes to everyday life, you suck. It isn't even a good song children.

Dear Freshmen,
Watch out because this girl is a part of LINK CREW next year. Yep, that's right, I will be giving you your tours and all. Enjoy it, please.

Dear Music Lovers,
Watch this and die of love:

Sincerely,
Yours Truly

P.S. Only 4 days of Seminary left, and 12 days of school(not all of those are full days either).

Be here ALREADY!! I am soooo stoked to teach all the youngins' about some cloud formations and how to tell if you have a broken bone. Seriously stoked, especially for the indian face paint.

Dear Disneyland,
I am so happy to finally have a pass again! I mean, it had been 2 months since I had been.

My Life's Notes

Sister

2 story hotel rooms without parents rock

Dear Me,
Stop eating chocolate while you write this. You aren't even a fan of chocolate.

Dear Sunday School teacher,
You are pretty cool. And the fact you were on Broadway with Les Miserables is so freaking awesome.

Dear Weather,
LOVE

Dear Chocolate milk,
Every morning I am woken up by the deliciousness that you are. So basically I love chocolate milk with a large passion.

Dear Disneyland passholders,
Boy am I jealous of you right now. I seriously just want to go to Disneyland and enjoy the rides and pretty scenery with everyone, but then I have to remind myself: "Mackenzie, you are broke. It isn't good to want things, especially a Disneyland pass, when you have no money because then you get sad"

Dear Debate partner,
You'll probably win considering I am just browsing the internet when I should be coming up with great arguments, so I'l just say your welcome now :)

Lots of Love,
Kenzie

My Life's Notes(Late yet again)

I have extremely hot friends

I got a spray tan once... It looked good for about 2 days, then I was scrubbing hard

Dear AP Students,
Thank you so much for having a bunch of AP tests this week. Since I'm in advanced classes, but not AP I am able to take it easy and sleep in class. Heaven.

Dear Seminary Sub,
You are really cool, and you will be even cooler if you bring your wife in on "bring your wife to seminary day" created by Maddie.

Dear Boys,
I be loving me some bow ties. The end.

Dear Hair,
You really annoy me a lot.

Dear Pinterest,
Boy are you my favorite. I'm addicted to pinterest and instagram. Follow me at @kenzibrooke for instagram and kenzibjones for Pinterest.

Dear Skin,
Stop being so white. It's embarrassing, and I'm ready to have pretty, tan legs.

Dear Everyone,
Live in the present, and forget the past.

Sincerely,
Kenzie

My Life's Notes

An Auto Museum in LA

"Hey I just met you, and this is crazy, But here's my number, So call me Maybe?"

That's right, I have a tongue

P.S. Sorry this was a wee bit late, my family took a last minute trip to Utah. Details coming soon

Dear LA Auto Museum,
Yeah you were cool, but My sister and I are obviously cooler. I mean, just look at those pictures of us. ;)

Dear Utah,
You are so pretty this time of year. And really hot(which is good). I can't believe I am saying this, but I miss your weather and I might actually be convinced that it isn't HORRIBLE to live there now.

Dear Boys,
You're dumb. Now that we all know that, can us girls stop liking you please?? At least until we are in college.

Dear Summer,
Please come faster because I have some freaking awesome adventures to fulfill with some friends, and they might possibly have something to do with the movie 500 Days of Summer.

Dear Blogger,
This is my 100th post.. Check it out :)

My Life's Notes

The making of the "stache"

The Final Product

Dear Ragnar Relay,
I loved this past weekend. I missed my daddy, because he was running in your race, but I'm glad I had his car all weekend. I was able to go to the beach, and to San Clemente.

Dear Ward Cookbook,
You have the best cookie recipe ever on about page 20 of the dessert section. Boy are the cookies delicious, and the cookie dough is even better.

Dear Hair,
I am going to cut you because it has gotten too long, but can you please have my bangs grow faster?? I'm sick of them now.

Dear Sun,
I loved you all last week, and I already miss you. Can it please be Summer already??

Sincerely,
Kenzie

Only 1 More Day...

Until this cute boy can legally drive me everywhere.

Happy 17th Birthday Damon!! "Today you're a man... Mozeltoff"(500 Days of Summer). You seriously are the sunshine that shines so brightly today. You make me want to smile consistently, and I really like when you take everything I say seriously. You are the reason I am saying all these ridiculously cheesy sayings. I hope you have the most magical day of your life, and I want you to know that if you do not destroy El Toro High School with your digs tonight, then I will personally come over to your house and scrutinize you. Just kidding.. I like you too much for that.

Love my nerdiness... This is what 10:30 on a school night does to me

I will always love this picture of us because it is really, seriously hard to be serious around you.

Lots and lots of love,
Kenzie Brooke

My Life's Notes

In the theatre before the Hunger Games premiere

Waiting in line, I was extremely tired

I am like the boys when it comes to food... Always ready to eat

Dear Spring Break,
Did you have to go by so fast?? I will agree though that I had the best time, and yet no pictures to document any of it.

Dear Teachers,
I love that I did not have to do any HW over break. I am really grateful for this.

Dear Everyone Reading This,
A sweet little girl in my church passed away this past week. Her funeral services were last night and today. We all only knew her for almost 7 years, but she was the sweetest little girl who always looked "fancy". She over to read books, and she had the cutest smile. If you want to see some cute videos and photos of her go here

Dear Brides,
Both weddings I went to this weekend were gorgeous. People need to keep getting married so I can get more inspiration.

Dear Weather,
LOVE YOU!! I wish I could head to the beach everyday this week.

Dear Week,
Be good to me. I'm still coming back from a ridiculously amazing break, and would appreciate it greatly if nothing too intense occurs.

Sincerely,
Kenzie

My Adventure at Mormal..

WARNING: PICTURE OVERLOAD
Mormal was the absolute best. I had never been before, but seriously, it was amazing. About 4 days before the big night, one of the dad's in our group sent out a mass itinerary. Boy was it ridiculous(like a good ridiculous, not bad). It had everything we were doing from the time we met at 3:45pm until we came home at 1am. The basic agenda included:
Pictures in Laguna Beach at a restaurant
Pictures at the art gallery next door
Pictures in this alleyway in Laguna Beach
Eat at the restaurant we took pictures in
Eat delicious and nummy Gelato in Laguna Beach
Then we finally go to the dance
We ended up taking some pictures outside of the dance, which was at the beautiful SOCA University
Leave early from the dance to go Cosmic Bowling in dresses and suits!
The whole group outside of the dance... It was freezing cold!
My date, Xander, and I
Getting delicious Gelato(Italian Ice Cream)
Xander and I at the art gallery
The whole group at the art gallery(I really liked the effect it added to the pictures)
My date and I at the restaurant
The group having some laughs while the girls have the boys hats on
All of our personalities together
A nice picture of all the girls with the boys hats on
Xander and I
My hair done by one of my good friends Sam
Lexi and I before the dates arrive
It was a crazy night, but so worth being sleep deprived!!
A HUGE thanks to Brother Cook for taking all of the pictures, driving us everywhere, and organizing the whole event. It was an absolutely fantastic night!!

Will you...?

In February, I got asked to Mormal(Mormon Formal) by my good friend Xander. I was super stoked when I came home one night to this from him:
He decorated the porch with cookies, Flowers, and a bunch of Lucky Charms that got stuck on the bottom of my shoes
Here was my response:
In the cauldron there were gold coins, and a paper saying YES
Here is a sneak preview of our pictures from last nights amazing Mormal:

How to throw the BEST Mormon Party... For Teens

DISCLAIMER: These Photos are in NO specific order
Being 16 is a pretty big deal. I went back and forth on having a Sweet 16, but ultimately decided it would be a great idea. One thing about Mormon parties is that everyone in the ward helps each other out, and people rarely spend over $400. But with this party, it was a little difficult to keep under budget at first, but eventually we made it. Here is how any person can throw the perfect party for a teenager(especially if you are Mormon):
1. PhotoBooths
Normally these are a little more traditional, but since they are so expensive, a guy in my ward set up the stuff we needed for our Roadshow pictures(a play my church is putting on). He is also a photographer, so he decided to just take picture of us and give them to my family on a CD. They turned out amazing!!
2. Great People
With just the right people, you can start a marshmallow war, or take some totally fantastic her-clicking photos.
3. An Amazing DJ(this guy happens to be one of my really close friends, friends)
Music is the most important part in setting the "mood" of the party. Make sure to pick music that is fun, and that everyone will want to dance to. My new friend, Travis, did a fantastic job!
4. Make sure to invite all of your friends!
You don't want anyone to feel left out do you??
(A random picture of me on my actual birthday with my cake)
5. What party doesn't end with planking??
Make sure to have a camera to take random shots like this one:
(On my actual birthday, my best friend dropped balloons off for me. Yes, I am in my Pajamas after a shower.. Who cares?)
6. Always make sure you have some sort of theme
I prefer just having a color scheme, so I went with blue and silver this time. I like having cute/classy decor.
(An one last picture of my great friend, Brandt)
Now, this cost of this party was NOT bad at all. Here are the totals:
DJ- $150
Photo Booth- $40
Food- $50
Balloons- $30
Great Time- FREE
GRAND TOTAL- $270
See? cheap and easy. Now go throw yourself the PERFECT party!
